I Sold 50 AMD Shares To Fund My Options Trading Account

I promised myself that I would document my option trading journey.

So here we go…

If you’re unsure of my background, I’d recommend reading my other blogs or about page.

I am getting into option trading as of September 2024.

I’ve only bought stocks and forgot about them, hence the AMD image below:

Being 100% transparent, I bought this stock blindly…

Meaning I had not idea of the fundamentals, or how the company made money, etc.

I just bought…

Money was generated through my agency, cash was just sitting in my bank account.

I am already not a “high spender” when it comes to materialistic things.

So, I decided to invest into my long term stock portfolio.

But after evaluating the stock and taking a course that would help me breakdown the fundamentals of a company…

I realized it was time to let AMD go, as it really is not my favorite fundamentally.

Well, I kept 25 shares since I bought it at a bad time.

The company is now pivoting away from its competition, NVIDA (A.I CHIPS)

Yet, AMD seems to be steadily growing.

In my eye, I felt it was time to sell and us the “profits” to fund my first options trade.

That I will be recording and documenting September 2024.
